1. Build an inspection list
Inspection requirements depend on the item and contract. State them explicitly rather than relying on a general request for “good quality”.
- Material grade and required material certificate.
- Dimensional, visual and marking requirements.
- Any agreed testing, third-party inspection or witness points.
2. Protect the interfaces
Packing should suit the product surfaces and transport conditions. The photos show examples of face protection, wooden cases and organised product packing.
- Specify flange-face protection and pipe/fitting end caps.
- Agree case or bundle format, separation and handling requirements.
- Provide shipping marks, item numbers and destination details.
3. Align the dispatch documents
Confirm the final document list and shipping arrangement in the order.
- Match the packing list to the purchase-order line items.
- Identify required inspection records and material certificates.
- Confirm trade terms, delivery location and timing with the quotation.
